I'm LDS (Mormon)... Willing to answer any reasonable questions about the church. I absolutely LOVE sports and will either be able to tell you anything about it or I will find it out to tell you both for your and my own personal enlightenment!

  • What am I doing wrong, because 1+1 DOES NOT equal 1...?

Anybody got an explanation for this?

    Problem: A=1, B=1.

    A=B.

A^2=AB (multiply both sides by A. so far, so good.))

    A^2 - B^2 = AB - B^2 (Subtract B^2 from both sides... still is legitimate.)

    (A+B)(A-B) = (B)(A-B) (factoring... part 1 expands to A^2 + AB - AB - B^2, so that's good factoring, part 2 expands to AB - B^2, so that's good factoring too.)

(A+B) = B (divide both sides by A-B, still good...)

    1+1 = 1 (substitute values.)

How on earth do legitimate math procedures make this 1+1=1? Am I missing something?

  • Complicated NFL Rules question?

OK. So follow me here. The NFL rule is to get two feet in bounds for a catch to be ruled complete, right? So my question is, does it count to get the same foot in bounds twice (i.e. if the receiver catches the ball on one foot, jumps in the air, and gets the same foot in bounds before falling out)? Lets say a WR broke his foot and stayed in the game, and he hopped to the ball, caught it (on one foot) in the middle of the field, and hopped over on that same foot until he was out of bounds, then put both feet down out of bounds for the trainer (it would be a miracle if he got a way from the Defensive Back but ignore that). Obviously he caught it in bounds and it was a reasonable catch, but how would they rule it? If it's a catch, would it be any different from my previous situation (hopping once before falling out of bounds)? Any explanation of this rule clarification is appreciated.

  • Trade of the century?

    http://games.espn.go.com/nba/features/traderesult?...

It's like 30 players, about 40 million dollars of players traded per team.

It will never happen, because NBA owners can't figure all this out... but LOL. How's that for 5 minutes of work?

  • Biggest NBA trade ever?

Wouldn't this be the biggest trade in NBA history? Duncan, Okafor, Kobe, Redd, Felton, J-Rich...

    WOW

    http://games.espn.go.com/nba/features/traderesult?...

And would it work? The Bobcats may not get enough and the Spurs may not want to give up Duncan. And really there is no way Kobe would go to Milwaukee. But IF he would, do you think that this deal would be accepted?

  • All-NBA under 10 team...?

Who would you guys put on a roster of the all NBA-U10 team? Requirements are that you have a C, PF, SF, SG, PG, 3 BN, 1 player projected to end up after the 10th pick in the draft, and the most important rule - selected players cannot have scored 10 ppg last year, and Ben Wallace and Tyson Chandler are not eligible. Best team gets best answer, and I'll say who I had.

  • LDS (Mormons): What is the most beatuiful temple that you have ever seen (in real life or a picture)?

I'm working on a presentation for something I am doing with the youth about temples and am wondering which ones you think are the most beautiful. All of them are beautiful, obviously, but I'm looking for some very distinguished temples that are different and beautiful (i.e. Logan UT or Oakland CA).

  • What are some hobbies that people can have?

I'm looking for a hobby. It needs to be very cheap (preferably something that would not require me to spend money), and it needs to be something I can do at home. About the only thing I am interested in right now is sports. However, I'm getting kind of bored with just playing, watching, eating, sleeping, etc. sports all the time. Any help with other hobby ideas would be appreciated.

  • How long is Fransisco Liriano out due to injury?

I just had my fantasy baseball draft, an autopick, and much to my chagrin it drafted Liriano in the 16th round... I forgot to include him on my "exclude" rankings list unfortunately. I know he is hurt, but I cannot seem to find out how long he will be out. Is he out for the whole season, or part of it?

  • Who thinks this could happen? Great rumor...?

Rumors have been floating around in the American Football section on Y!A that Murdock will stop asking stupid questions w/ made up rumors... Do you think this could happen? I heard the Patriots are willing to trade their seventh round pick to him and give him his brain back if he stops... Belichick thinks this is a great deal! lol

For bonuses in deciding the best answer:

    1) What do you think Murdock's next preposterous rumor will be?

    2) What do you think Murdock's motives in posting absurd questions are?

^^ That was just a joke... And it wouldn't happen anyway lol
