What to see and do and where to stay (cheep) in Savannah GA.?

My husband and I are planning a trip from Tampa Fl. over to the east coast and up to Savannah Ga. I would like to know some of the tourist attractions (the more unusual the better) we like simple yet interesting things. We plan on leaving on the 24 th. of January for a 4 or 5 day get away. I need info on places of interest in and around Savannah but if there is something along the way I would like to know. Also info on tours that are worthwhile.

Not sure about tours there. but Downtown Savannah is absolutely beautiful. Many historic sites in and around the city. The homes and buildings are just stunning. Also the river walk has a very cool night life. Outside of Savannah there is Ty bee island. Its a small beach town with an interesting vibe to it. It really depends what you're into. But definitely visit the down town area. I used to go there for St Patricks day...Great Place!

You Must also EAT....the seafood is great as well and the southern food...There is a great restaurant downtown called "Mrs Wilkes"Hhttp://www.mrswilkes.com/ home style southern food, Fried chicken, biscuits, mac and cheese, collard greens etc etc...All served family style so you never know who you might be sitting with! But be aware..its an extremely popular place and people stand in line a long time to get in. But its totally worth it. The sweet tea rocks! You'll have a lot of fun there I'm sure . Just an all around great city.

howdy, do not enable the psychos hardship you. they're everywhere. Savannah is astonishing. I agree that the Hyatt is a huge decision. on each occasion i visit Savannah I wish i became on the Hyatt....purely can't locate the money for it yet easily that's the situation for a honeymoon. With being a historic previous buff you prefer to head to the extensive travelers center and take numerous the excursions so which you will get the historic previous instructions and see the insides of numerous the surprising restored mansions with the antiques and relics...Savannah has the wonderful of those. i does not omit the prospect to head the the coast the two. A break of day on one the islands is extremely romantic. i admire the coastline on St Simon's...Tybee is closest to Savannah and in case you head for Tybee make specific to consume on the Crab Shack and e book a dolphin excursion ....in case you're making plans forward you will possibly desire to get a house or a apartment condo or hotel room with a balcony overlooking the sea and watch the break of day mutually as you savour your morning espresso. Congrats and can you have many happy years mutually.
