Do you have government conspiracy theories in your country?

This question is only for those people who are NOT citizens of the United States. I would really like to know whether conspiracy theories are as numerous in other countries as they are in the United States. Please tell me where you're from when you answer, otherwise I'll just assume you're another idiotic conspiracy theorist.

i'm from the UK. i guess there are all manner of theories about minor events but the main one concern the death of Princess Diana. there are plenty of people who believe she was killed by the British security agencies, some who think the US did it, because she was dating a muslim (some say going to marry him/others that she was pregnant). i am pretty sure conspiracy theories are not only a US phenomenon.

Hmm..not conspiracies persay but some widely held beliefs:

    1. The cutbacks to Social Services and the release of people out of institutions and mental hospitals are primarily responsible for the number of aging homeless people on the streets and that the kids 'slip through the system' and end up on the street.

    2. That stealing and marijuana trafficking and use are taken much more seriously than violent crimes.

    3. That we have crossed the line from being a peacekeeping nation to a nation that follows American foreign policy, against the wishes of the majority of people.

    4. That the Arctic borders are our own and integral to our sense of autonomy, identity, political future and security, that geographically and territorially, they belong to us.

    5. That the government withholds money from certain provinces as a bargaining chip and method of submission to 'Liberal' thinking or 'Conservative' thinking, as in you are punished by the withholding of transfer payments for not voting for them.

    6. That French Canadians are favoured in this country, which is true.

    etc.
