Do TVs have static electricity?

T.V. emits electric currents. So of course it has static electricity. but it was most likely you who created it in the first place. Its just like if you walk around on a carpet and then touch a balloon...it will slightly shock you. static elecricity will occur whenever you walk around enough to build a friction and touch a metal or elecricity absorbing object.

Or, you could have a loose wire in your TV. But in the end you can get zapped by many different object just by walking around. I got zapped by a beer can once. and many times by my girlfriends lips when i go to kiss her. elecricity is wierd. :)

Possibly. The Screen Has The Most Static Electricity I hate It When I Touch It and That Happens! Nothing Serious, Dont Worry Just Try To Touch It Less There....

CRT-type TV's generate a lot of static electricity on the face of the picture tube. It's a side effect of the way they work. The new generation of LCD TV's would not have that problem. That is another advantage of LCD screens, besides the fact that they are very thin.

Yes it is static. Try this.... if you have carpet and it gets somewhat cool outside. walk around in sock all day and at night, turn off the lights and the tv (after its been on for a couple hours), now touch the screen in total darkness, you should see a faint light upon contact but it doesn't hurt at all.

im not sure but at school once someone turn on the tv at the end of the day and then turn it off again then he brushed his hand on the screen and gave someone a static shock it was funny i tryed it but it didnt work lol

yes surely i got real electrical shocks and i can assure u that it was nothing but static electricity

Yes, but be careful it could be a loose wire causing a short. If there's any doubt I would either take it to the repair place or get a new one to prevent the risk of fire.

turn an old styel tv off. stand near it n ur hair will levitate 2wards it. thats static electrisity not magic.
