The Morris Family contributed the most.
Robert Morris, specifically, financed the Revolutionary war after the Colonists had run out of money and were surely doomed.
Robert had established the Bank of North America and was a very wealthy man.
He and his brother, Luis Morris were both signers of the Declaration of Independence.
Robert financed the Revolutionary war with every dollar he had.
Because of his contributions the Colonists were able to win the war, and the United Sates were born.
Incidentally, Robert died a pauper because the United States never paid him back.
