Is the ACLU trying to bring the USA to total ruin?

You obviously have not yet figured out that the ACLU exist to preserve the USA. While you (and I!) may not agree with many of the cases they take, you are suffering from "selective vision" if you think they are "bad" for America, since what they exist to do is uphold the notion of Constitutional law.

It is the absolute right of every American to free expression, even if her views are at odds with her community. If you want to hold a Neo-Nazi rally in the US, you are an idiot, but you have a Constitutional right to do so. That's what freedom is, and that's what makes the US the greatest place in the world to live!

You might need to study a list of the causes the ACLU has represented since its inception; you will find (unless you yourself are some sort of 'extremist wacko', which, by the way, is your right!) that you fully support about half the causes they have stood up for. It's just that the "unpopular" positions get all the press.

The ACLU believe that in a free country, both you and (for instance) David Duke have equal freedom of expression.

Assuming that your current "outrage" is based on their efforts to protect our collective right to "freedom from religion", which I will guess you disgree with because you still think America was founded as a "Christian" nation (it wasn't, and in fact the majority of the Founding Fathers were Deists, not Christians), you should think through the probable consequences if the Bible were ever adopted as legal code here. If any memeber of your family were found not to be adhering to the "faith", you would be required to stone them!

ACLU is a four letter word. They complain about this country so much that I think they would really be happier somewhere else. I think we should start a fund to buy them one-way tickets to a land of their choice. See how long they last in some other country that does not allow them the freedom to spread their disease.....oh, one more thing. Make sure that we sterilize them so they can't breed.

It is a shame that a once good cause has turned into much more political wing of a anti American cause. They are hell bent on removing any representation of freedom of Religion. Like showing a manger in public places is going to harm anyone . If this organization is funded by tax payers, then we as voters need to instruct our Representatives in congress to remove this funding.

Yes and they are succeeding.They have succeeded in taking religious rights away from people because a small minority wants to complain about celebrating Christmas in schools,religious symbols in public squares during traditional holiday seasons.Yet they want to teach public school children now about the muslim and islamic religion,what the hell is wrong with these people anymore?
