No way, it is unforgivable to kill someone. I fail to see how people can believe so much in their own judgement they can decide that someones life is to end. What if they were wrong?

I know several guards at the local prison and, coincidently, had a long conversation with one this morning. He is crippled because of the inmates that just don't five a F. The criminals have been given too many rights and the hands of the guys that are supposed to keep them in line are tied. He also said that the amount of times he has seen the same people that come in over and over again, after trying every single kind of deterrent, training, rehab, whatever, that the only thing that gets them to stop commiting crimes is that they get old and tired. Oh yeah, and the death penalty should stay.

I believe in the death sentence, not as a solution to dissuade people from committing crimes, but as a good way to get rid of the plagues on society. Murderers, rapists and other criminals who get the death sentence deserve it. They have ruined other peoples lives and should not be allowed to keep on breathing. Many say that life in prison is a good enough punishment and its not. They are still living, breathing, and eating. That is not good enough.

Definetly. But only if it is a hands down case and it is proven to be without a doubt in anybody's mind that the person is wrong. Like Sadaam for instance. He was out of control. Murderers who are caught red handed. They too. Anyone that is uncontrollably out of control should be doomed. When they took away the death sentence everybody started acting like animals. There is no fear anymore. Bring it back and things will change. And this pushing off their death row date is for the birds too. Too much wasted taxes. An eye for an eye has to come back. We are becoming animals anymore. Where is the civilization we worked so hard for? I think that went to a death sentence.

I don't like it. Not at all. I hate it. But we need to rid the earth of some evil people. Used properly, I think of it as punishment, not a method of dissuading people. And punishment works.

I used too. Then they started releasing people found to be innocent after years in prison. Just think how you would feel. Just think how scared you would be. How about your family, your mom!

I used to be more radical. I used to say "treat them like they did their victims" . Then I was accused of a minor issue that I was innocent of. I could not prove I did not do something I did not do. It is easy to prove what you HAVE DONE. Sometimes it is impossible to prove what you did not do.

Juries, lawyers, police.... they are human and humans make mistakes. And here lately they make way too many deals.

God help the innocent person condemned to death wrongly. And God help our society that does not embrace the possibility of error.

Source(s): My own errors haunt me way to much and I never condemned any one to death. I could not live with myself if I had. The true condemned would be someone having to live with that knowledge of personal error as a Judge, Lawyer, or any court offical or Jurior.

I had a cousin brutally murdered on 10/1/05. YES, I believe in the death sentence and I believe it would be a deterrent if we actually carried it out instead of leaving them in prison for 50 years after they are sentenced. If they get the death penalty, carry it out immediately!

I agree with irmak...Also the people (murderers, rapists etc.. )when they actually put in prison for life they either kill themselves or at least try a few times, so prison must be worse then the actual death, I do not believe in death penalty as lots of executed people turned out to be innocent and no one could bring them back....

Of corz no..Every person has her/his being alive right.

You are referring to the "deterrence" rationale for people who approve of capital punishment. While Some studies have shown that there is no real deterrence effect (there are the same rates of murders per 100,00 in areas with the death penalty as in those without), there is no real way of knowing how many people it really deters.

  • yes i believe in death sentence exspecaily if they rapped people and killed people . they deserve what they get. exspecaily if they had it done to them the way the treated the victims
