How long you think; you'll keep your New Years resolutions ?

*** This year I decided not to make resolutins, after all it has only been a few of them that I've kept going.

So without resolutions I have the whole year to pick that perfect moment... the moment when I really feel prepare to follow through with what ever area I think that needs improvement in my life.

Actually it depends on the intensity of your will power and discipline to do whatever you want to do. Some might have it for a day, others all through the way. It depends.

Why wait for New Year's to make a resolution about something in your life you know needs changing?

To my way of thinking, once we realize we have a bad habit, or need to get something done or over with, take a course of study, lose weight - whatever - we should simply go ahead and do so immediately.

That is the reason 'we' tend to forget or break the vow after a short time.

Having a new years resolution or not you still accomplish many things. I stopped making them because I know whether i'll have the will power and determination to follow through or not.

I mean so silly ritual or tradition can really help you accomplish your goals, dreams or in this case your New Year's resolution. It's all mental, just put your mind to it. Simple as that.

Gee, I like your answer better then mine. It sounds so relaxed and confident.

My desire for keeping a journal is something I have always wished I had done, long ago. I am doing that this year ~~ I am also going to have another journal of the Highlights of my life. I will give that to my closest child, because I know it will mean something special to her.

Will follow your plan too !! I like praying and putting some things in Gods hands. He knows best when the time is right !!!!

I can honestly say that I keep mine for about 10 hours. Resolved to quit smoking and did so from midnight until about 10 a.m. In all honesty though 8 of them hours were spend sleeping.

I did have an important resolution, but now I'm not sure I want to fulfill it any more, although most likely I can.

I never really understood the purpose of New Years' Resolutions.

If you think about doing or changing something, why not do it now (whenever now is)?
