Hair help! I got my hair dyed yesterday and now it's burgundy.?

I have natural red hair but over the years it has faded to strawberry blonde. I went to my hairdresser yesterday and told her I wanted the vibrancy and depth I used to have and I brought her a picture of what it used to look like. She put what she called drop color in. It's now a dark burgundy, I feel like a sideshow freak. Another hairdresser who was there told me that if I thought it was too dark to wash it with baking soda and that would lighten it up, it did not work. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated! Thanks in advance!

being that is is burgundy, it sounds like your hair was too porous and soaked up all that color.....a little too much.....i wouldn't suggest you coloring it again.....you will only make a mess, unless you get it done professionally.....but yes, keep washing it in hot!!! water, and i have actually used dawn dish liquid before to strip color, someone else was right when they said that red is the quickest color to fade....so just try to wash it away......if worse comes to worse, you could always try a product called uncolor.....but instead of mixing it with peroxide/developer.....just mix it with water, so it won't be as damaging......and make sure to you condition, condition, condition your hair!!!!......good luck!!!

Hey There- I dont know about the ColorFix. But I will tell you from personal experience....I did the same thing with a similar color. I just left it on too long- and it turned really dark. I called my hair lady (mind you I skipped her in the first place to save money) and she told me too use dish detergent. Plain old Ivory or Palmolive, etc- Keep washing it and washing it out. You can leave it in for a few minutes and its supposed to break down the hair dye. But I will warn you- my hair felt like straw. Super dry and gross. Then I just used the conditioner from the dye box- or any deep conditioner and moisturized. It definitely got lighter- not the original color before. But then I continued washing it this way for a week and got back to where I was. Good luck. Also- if you go to a salon be careful! When my friends hair turned black we called around and some were charging about 600 dollars to correct color. Luckily we found a lady who charged me 30 at a small salon in town- she basically said they all do the same work- however, you pay for the salon name and their overhead costs. She did a good job and lifted the color with bleach but it looked good. So good luck.

Well, wash it every day in hot water and get the harshest shampoo and conditioner you can find. It might take a few days, but it will fade. Red tones fade faster than any other.

This happened to me once as well. I came out looking like a circus clown. After about 3 days of washing it was a bit better.

Wash it - try a strong dandruff shampoo - most of them strip out color. Maybe rinse it with lemon juice.
