It looks like the game Lovecraft Country is based on the works of H.P. Lovecraft, a writer of horror and speculative fiction in the 1930s.
So far as I know, Lovecraft never created any artwork to go along with his fiction. However, his works (especially those about the Elder Gods, including Cthulhu) have achieved a spectacular following over the decades since his death.
Thus, I would argue that those symbols are based off of well-known symbols, but may not have any actual meaning themselves aside from being creepy looking.
