The ending of the movie "Children of Men"?
Was it just my show or was the ending of the movie "Children of Men", cut short? The ending literally left the audience "hanging". What's up with that?!

it is supposed to leave them hanging, because it's not over yet- it is a warning to us that we need to start respecting children- not killing them. Infertility is already starting to be a problem in countries such as Italy, and if we overlook it we could be in trouble. It didn't end completely because we are supposed to have doubt as to what happened- because it is still the future, and we can save it if we try to and don't overlook our problems.

That is the way that the Mexican director Alfonso Cuarón Orozco chose to end the movie. This is not uncommon technique with non-American directors.
It certianly was a different kind of movie. The movie is LOOSLY based on a novel by the same name. From the posts in the Rotten Tomatoes forum on this film, some people loved it, whiles others hatted it.

Wow, I just saw this yesterday and I liked it alot. So much that I am going to go and read the book it was based on.
I thought the ending was relatively clear though.
Ki (key) was obviously rescued by the Human Project and based on the laughter of the children playing at the end of that scene......I assumed that it turned out she and her child (daughter) were "the key" to the infertility issue and as a result they were able to bring children back to the world.
I thought it was a good movie.

i think they did that on purpose. kinda like tossing a bucket of ice cold water on the audience.
