has anyone downloaded & got windows xp x64 trial version to work successfully?

I downloaded the trial version and burned the iso file onto a cd but nothing happens when i try to start up the disk either from a fresh boot or by double clicking in windows explorer. I've read the disk should start from a fresh boot.

Any suggestions what to do?

Make sure you have booting from the CD enabled in you BIOS, and that the CD is "ahead" of the hard disk in the boot sequence.

I've successfully downloaded and installed the Windows XP x64 trial.

    Few suggestions:

Check if your CPU is 64 bits.

Check if your BIOS boots from CD.

Check if the CD Image is OK (use validate & burn in your burning software)

in case you comprehend somebody who has an XP disk attempt employing it (with the disks product key). I did it and have been given to apply XP for 30 days previously registration - and charge to Microsoft - replaced into mandatory. I merely positioned XP right into a 2d workstation, Which usually might require paying the cost, & did no longer could desire to pay for registering. in all hazard when you consider that Vista got here out Microsoft does not care approximately copying XP.
