i have a client who wants to amend his return since he and his wife are in an assisted living home and the wife definitely is there for medical reasons. the problem is the husband is their only because of the wife.

the client want to to know if he could deduct the cost for himself in addition to his wife.

please include the IRS code section/source for your answer.

The only loophole i see applies for lodging - that an accompanying person can deduct the cost of lodging.

2) can he ammend his returns & claim a refund more than 3 years since he already filed his returns even though the normal statute of limitation rule rule is you cant claim refunds more than 3 years old?

my stepson wants an ipod video player for graduation from 8th grade. (He really doesnt deserve to graduate since he failed at least 2 finals and never studies - but school may let him graduate anyway).

Should he still get one?

We dont like him using the internet, and we dont have high speed at home - only dialup. He claims there are alternantive ways to install songs and videos - such as from friends.

He is easily influenced by what he sees and hears so i dont think any video is a good idea for him even without internet.

Even an ipod without video may be a better alternative.

Would you still buy it if you were his parent?

In the hardware device manager menus in windowsme the "enhanced pci controller to usb host controller" has a green question mark.

Since then data sent to my printer hasnt been printing. Ive reinstalled usb and printer drivers but still get green "?".

no longer get a menu allowing me to set up printer so can send data to a usb port but only to a print file.

I started getting this error after recently installed a new AGP video card with new driver. I tried taking out new video card but still same problem. Should i try uninstalling the video card's driver as well or should this be unrelated since its an AGP rather than PCI ?

I downloaded the trial version and burned the iso file onto a cd but nothing happens when i try to start up the disk either from a fresh boot or by double clicking in windows explorer. I've read the disk should start from a fresh boot.

When I turn on bath & shower it leaks downstairs to apt below. I took apart & checked handle parts but dont see any leaks. Also, they are relatively new. shower & tub spout also are relatively new. leaks downstairs even if just bath is on. Wife tried pouring water from a bucket into tub to see if drain but didnt leak - meaning only leaks when water's on. Where else can i check without opening bathtub or drain or wall. Could it be related to the seat (valves)?

I read that even the front O2 sensors are under the car in a 96 ford taurus so i decided to go to a mechanic (especially since the car was smoking today). He said 2 cylinders out of 6 dont have enough compression and i need a new engine. Is it true theres no other way to repair the cylinders except by replacing/rebuilding the engine?

Do you need to put the car on a lift or are the front oxygen sensors located under the hood near the engine?
