Can I download new info on a used cd-r?

I have a number of cd-r disks on which the info is no longer needed. Is it possible to download information over the existing files, or should I just throw them out and use new disks? I use cd-rw disks for things I know I am going to change, but sometimes I use the cd-r disks because they cost so much less. Help?

If you closed out the CD-R when you initially burned it, then no, you can't add to it. If you only closed out the part of the disc that you used, that you can add to the disc.

Unless you used a CD-RW, you cannot erase your CD.

But don't fret, you can pick up CDs for less than $0.10 each at local computer shows, or even at CompUSA when they have sales.

Use CD-RW's for erasing and rewritting. CD-R is one write.
