Possible pregnancy and Possible Myth?
Firstly i want to state that i'm not looking for a moral lesson or a religious view. I just want honest answers and no flames.
I had protected sex for the first time in the middle of Dec. i should have gotten my period a few days before christmas. Since then i've taken 2 pregnancy tests, both came out negative but still no period. Is it normal to still get a negative result after that long ifyou are pregnant? I am planning on going to the dr with in the next week but i would like some feedback and also what i should expect in going to the dr, but also some symptoms on what an early pregnancy are, i've looked online but everything is really general and could be many pms symptoms.
The possible myth i heard was from a friend, she said sometimes after your first time having sex you are late. Has anyone else heard this/ was this true for you?

Ok I've never heard that myth.
Yes you could very well be pregnant and your starting symptoms are very similar to PMS. The further along you get though you'll start noticing changes. For instance I'm six weeks and I feel like ,at times, I have the flu. some other things though are forgetfullness and clumsiness. I also got several negatives before a got a positve. Just keep taking them and go to a doctor or a family plannig center if there is one around.
Oh yeah and I'm pregnant and not married and if you have any trouble out of the "religious" tell them where they can shove it. It is none of there business and most definately not their place to judge you.

You probably are not pregnant. If it was protected, then you are probably fine, but i say probably because the condom could have broke, etc. If you had sex a couple days before christmas, you can expect to keep getting negative results from a pregnancy test until it has been 4 full weeks (though some tests can detect it 5 days earlier) so i wouldn't expect it to come out positive that you are until the end of january. Also, if you are stressed out or really worried you might be, it can delay your period. I stressed out alot a couple months ago that i might be pregnant and it delayed my period for 3 weeks from the date it should have happened. So it's ok to still go to the doctor, but i would bet you are fine, or if you are pregnant, you'll know by the end of this month. Good Luck!

I didn't have a period for 3 months after my first time.
But I have never heard the myth.
What to expect from the Dr???
He will take a blood test and give you a pelvic exam. And you will know before you leave if your pregnant.
Symptoms: Like you saw on line.
But i knew after a few weeks because of my nipples had darken around the edges.
Good luck and I thought your questions were good ones for others to read and think about.

pregnancy test are usually accurate for the most part and by the time of your missed period the hpt should be able to tell you if you are or not. if its your first time it can cause a shift in your period schedule because your body isnt used to it and due to hormonal changes. i wouldnt worry to much about it. but at the doctors office hes going to run some blood work test and probably give you a pap smear. some early signs of pregnancy consists of implantation bleeding. which is usually the fist sign. not all woman bleed during their first week of pregnancy. implantation bleeding usually happens any where from 6-12 days after you conceive. it is when the fertilized egg attaches itself to the wall of the uterus. following that you may experience really sore boobs.. or they maybe more sensitive. cramping and bloating. urinating more frequently because of hcg levels. umm.. a much sharper sense of smell. anything to strong may make you nauseous.. you may get really light headed and dizzy through out the day because your blood pressure will drop trying to accommodate the fetus.. i guess its really about how well you know your body. look for any changes out of the norm. i know its kind of hard to tell because most of these symptoms could basicly be caused from pms, enviromental status, and of course stress can have a big effect on your hormonal balance. i dont think you have anything to worry about. also you did say that yall had used to protection so it lowers the risk greatly. good luck to you though. hope i may have been of help

It's a myth that after you have sex your period will be late.
Since your period is late and your tests are showing up as negative, you should see your doctor for a blood test.
You should also know that stress can also cause a missed period, as well as drastic changes in diet, rapid weight loss or gain, ovarian cysts, OR you may just have an irregular period.
It could be any number of things, but I suggest that you see your doctor just to be on the safe side.

I haven't heard that but I'd say it's a myth that your first intercourse would delay your period. Stress and other changes in your body can delay your period. The holidays, finals at school, etc. could cause enough stress to do so. Plus if you're still a teen irregular periods are to be expected. I suggest you see your doctor for a more accurate test.
Good luck.

yes! It is very possible for your period to come early, late or not at all after having sex for the first time (or from doing it more than you usually do)
when I was with my ex of 10 years-- there was a lot of times I was late, early or didnt get it all all due to sex.
For real--dont stress over it, it is very normal.
the only symptoms you will get in the beginning are your normal 'my period is coming' symptoms
despite what everyone thinks-- pregnancy symptoms dont show up until you are about 6-8 weeks pregnant.

I have never heard the myth, but there are all sorts of reasons for your period not coming including pregnancy. Some women never produce enough hcg to be detected by over the counter pregnancy test. Most likely though, you aren't pregnant.

you might just be stressed by the thought ... sometimes this may happen. But I would go to a doctor for a blood test. They are the best way to find out.
1. Do you feel sick?
2. Do your feet, back, or boobs hurt?
3. Do smells really make you sick?
I would really think about these questions ... the doctor may ask these.
:-) gl with everything... hope the best!

Yes after your first time having sex you can be late because of stress... Anyway if the tests revealed negative you just have to be relax and wait for your period as i mentioned if you are stress of course it can be late ... but to a 100% sure you can go to your doctor or get a blood test done!
Take care.
