At least two weeks before hand. That gives you time to make the preparations. Be sure to include a note that says 'if I don't hear from you, I'll miss you!' or something to that degree, so people know that if they don't rsvp, they don't come. Try calling your guests on or after the rsvp date to make absolutely sure whose coming and whose not. Good luck!

To begin with, I wouldn't send invitations more than two months in advance. It would be quite easy for people to forget about plans if you make them much earlier than this. As for a date to RSVP - if you are making plans that require you to have a firm (or at least close) headcount on the number of people to attend the event - ask that people RSVP at least one week before the date which you must confirm the plans. And have a great birthday!

If you having it someplace that you have to give a headcount, I'd say a week before that count is due, because you will have people calling after that rsvp date. If not, then a week before is good.

I think that would depend on how big of a party and what kind of notice you need to give those who are throwing the party (reservations for how many, and such).
That's also my kitty cat's birthday! Have fun!

I think 2 weeks before is great so ppl wouldn't make plans at that day then just few ppl show up..
