Is a flat iron that heats up....?
to 400 degrees too hot to use? My mom purchased a flat iron for me and it says it heats up to 400 degrees. That seems way to hot, anyone know?

no, it does less damage because they heat will be on your hair for a much shorter period of time then one that went up to say, 200 degrees. Hair can handle heat, just not for extented periods of time. So you will get the same results as the irons that only go up to 200 degrees, it will just be quicker and less damaging.

Depends on the thickness of your hair, if it's thin turn it down to 200-250, if it's medium thickness-300-350, only if it is very thick I would turn it up to 400. Don't burn your hair.
