My mom used to make a sweet corn bread for us when we were kids.?

It didn't have wheat flour or creamed corn in it I can no longer find the recipe. Does anybody else have one.

Update:

they don't have Jiffy in Canada, nor do they have any cornbread rmixes. I need one without flour

Update 2:

I don't use mixes for much of anything, since they all contain way too much sodium for me.

I don't know if this is the recipe you're looking for, but this is the one I use:

    1 cup all-purpose flour

    1 cup cornmeal

    1/4 cup sugar

    3/4 teaspoon salt

    4 teaspoons baking powder

    2 eggs

    1 cup milk

    1/4 cup soft shortening

Preheat oven to 425. Sift together dry ingredients. Beat together milk and eggs, then add that and the shortening to the cormeal mixture, and beat just until smooth. Bake in a greased 9x9x2 pan, and bake for 20 to 25 minutes.

    Enjoy!

This recipe is super easy, and it's delicious!

1 box yellow cake mix(I like butter recipe)

2 boxes Jiffy corn muffin mix

Whisk the two mixes together in a huge bowl until they're combined. Prepare it according to the directions on each package, then pour into a 13x9 baking pan and bake according to the directions on the cake mix package. Voila! I love this stuff!

I have never had any luck with "homemade" cornbread. Instead, I just add some Splenda to "Jiffy" cornbread mix. Tastes like what my grandma always made.

    Good Luck! ;)

Source(s): By the way, I use Splenda because it doesn't weigh down the mix like regular sugar will. It stays light and fluffy and doesn't over-brown" before it's finished baking.

take your normal cornbread recipe and add 3/4 cup of sugar.....if the recipe calls for sugar dont add it too..........its a shame that you cant get jiffy as it is sweet and cheap...and quick....
