Considering buying a used Dodge Cummins 6 speed. How many is too many miles for a used diesel? If you have owned one, how did you like it.....would you recommend buying one?

yes ,,id recommend buying one, there good vehicles and as far as mileage,,200 thousand would be to much,,id consider anything below a 100 k to be good mileage on a good used one,,it may be hard to find one though, because most people don't get rid of those until they start giving problems ,but they are good and very reliable ,,,you can drive one and see what you think about it ,that's about the best i can tell you,,good luck hope this help,s.

Buy that truck! those motors last a LIFETIME, especially the 12 valve ('87-'97). it's the best motor ever made, period. Mine had more than 625k miles on it when i sold it (1992 model). I loved that truck, it was fun to drive and had tons of power. They also hold their value better than any Honda or Toyota you'll find. Definitely the best truck to get.

Diesel engines don't really wear out. Just make sure the rest of the truck is in good shape.

Highly recommended. 200k is not too many miles for one of these trucks. they just keep running and running. i drive a ford currently, but my last dodge had about 250k and was running as good as day one. wish i still had a dodge.
