Sounds like this teacher needs to go to bat for you and find some way to help you communicate the problem to the History teacher.
I learned in college never to lend my notes or books to anyone when I lent my notes from 12 weeks of a 16 week semester to a geology classmate. That classmate had an automobile accident and was hospitalize for 3 weeks. Needless to say more than 100 pages of class notes were never returned. I will never let my books or notes leave my possession again. I'll take you to the library and you can make copies, but they will not leave my possession.

Maybe you could try finding her phone number and see if you can arrange a time to meet her and get it. Or, you could study with a friend or borrow a friend's book to study from. You should always take notes for situations like this. Taking notes also helps you better reinforce what you're learning.

I think that you got in some really really bad luck and I would borrow a book from a friend or make a copy
