does the 2004 toyota highlander's navigation system have a night mode?
i do see a night mode in the settings on page 4, but it doesn't seem to do anything. in other nav systems (such as honda and nissan), at night the screen displays a negative of the screen so it isn't so bright. i think i saw mine on the highlander do that once, but never again.

I can't imagine that it doesn't have a night mode! I have a 2004 Toyota Prius and there is a dial to the left of my steering wheel that controls the brightness of both the dash lights and the navigation screen.

Yes it has night mode go into settings and make sure its in enabled and if that don't work your dimmer switch for your interior lighting got changed , The wheel that brightens your speedo lights

If its a Denso # 86111-48060 and equiv. Toyota # 462200-1391, then night mode is activated when you turn on the headlights.
