Honestly, your best bet is to remove the toilet from the floor and take it out that way if you cannot get it out from the bowl. You will need a new wax ring to reinstall but at least you won't have a potato stuck in your pipes. By the sounds of it the potatoe is blocking drainage which means it is still in the toilet, no major problems yet!

a snake would work the best it has like a cork screw on the end and you don't have to put your hands in the comode drop end in and twist (in the drain hole) it should go through the tater and just pull out the auger and hopefully the the potato you should just need a small 10 footer their pretty cheap found at any hardware or home improvement store if all else fails take out the toilet be sure to replace the wax ring under the toilet and it wouldn't hurt to use new screws when replacing the toilet pretty easy job to do don't forget to turn off water if you have to remove toilet

It depends on where it is stuck. If it is in the bottom of the toilet bowl, use something to stab it to get it out or break it up. If it is in the tank, use the same method.

If it isn't visible or is stuck beyond the 90 degree joint, call a plumber.

Do not use a plunger it will only cause it to get further stuck. Call a plumber more then likely they will have to pull the toilet up. Sorry about your luck. if you can still see it try to poke it with something to pull it out.

All very good suggestions.......corkscrew, snake, and plumber seem most logical. As does, making 4 year old reach little hand down to attempt to get said potato. I would not make light of this situation or have 4 year old think that you in any way find this amusing. 4 year old obviously requires additional supervision and consequence that equates to plumbing bill.

You will need to remove your toilet and go up from the bottom to pull it out then just put the the toilet back in place. Good luck

I think a plunger should work for that. If not, you will need to get a toilet snake (auger). They are not that much. I would try a plumber last. It will cost you 10 times what the toilet auger cost.

I believe you, happened to me and I managed to get it out with a wire clothes hanger. Just undo the knot below the hanger and go fish. Took me 10 minutes to do it after feeling for the potato.

If you can't get it out easily, call a drain cleaning service rather than a plumber, its cheaper.
