How do you delete the temporary internet files?

and everything will be gone :D

Delete Temporary Internet Files.

There are two ways….the manual and the automatic way. The automatic way is to go to Internet Explorer and select Tools – Internet Options.

You can achieve the same result by going to Start – Settings – Control Panel – Internet Options.

There is a section called Temporary Internet Files. There are two delete buttons – Delete Cookies and Delete Files. If you click on Delete Cookies you will be prompted;

Select Ok to delete the cookies. Click Delete Files and it will prompt you;

Select to Delete all offline content as well and select ok. Your temporary internet files are now empty or cleared.

The manual way is to go to c:\documents and settings\%username%\local settings\temporary internet files and delete everything in the directory.

Please follow the steps mentioned below:

1. Click on the <Tools> menu at the top of your Internet Explorer browser.

2. Click on <Internet Options>.

3. Select the <General> tab.

4. Go to the <Temporary Internet Files> area.

5. Click on the <Delete Files> button to delete files.

6. Select the option <Delete all offline content>.

7. Click on the <OK> button.

8. Click <Settings> button.

9. Under the heading <Check for newer versions of stored pages>, check-mark the option <Every visit to the page>.

10. Click on the <OK> button.

11. Again, click on the <OK> button.

Go up to the "Tools" menu at the top of the browser. From there, you want to select "Internet Options." In the middle of the window that pops up are different options for "temporary internet files." You can choose to delete your cookies, or the temp internet files. Click the "delete offline content" to ged rif of offline temp internet files as well.

There are a few options.

You can either clean the files manually by going to the directory.It depends on the OS you are using.For a XP user it's situated in..

C:\Documents and Settings\(User Name)\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files.

OR

Your web browser has the option to clean the temporary internet files.

Also you can allow the browser not to store any temporary files.

Normally you'll find the this option in Internet options (if u r a IE user) or in Tools>>>options>>>Privacy(if u r a firefox user)

Right click the Internet Explorer icon on your desktop, then click Properties in the dropdown. You should see a section that says Temporary Internet Files then just click Clear History

This should be a routine opperation. That it isnt, suggests something doesnt want to be deleted. I'm reasonably experienced, and have never encountered this as a topic/problem in a forum to do with regular microsoft problems. I have had viruses, and all sorts, but not this, so it just may be a legit conflict, but certainly viruses to wiered things. My best suggestion, is a re format, and re install windows, if your competent, have the disks, and can back up personal files. If not, it may be a long slug with antivirus, But dont download any free scanners etc, that may appear. Obviously, do not do any pc banking or online purchases until its sorted. sorry cant be of more help, but hope its helpful advice in the mean time.

you need to go under the maintenance program for the computer . But there is a probability at work it will not function ! this is usually done to check on the Employess to see what they are up to

A couple of ways

Go to your Tools menu and select

"Internet options" then cancel your cookies and or cache files

Go to "start"

Click on "control Panel"

Select "Category View" if you are not already in it (top left corner- look.. smiles)

Click on "performance & Maintenence

Click on "free up space on your hard disk"

This will delete from all your browsers at one time.
