Hi... "Moon River" is a song composed by Johnny Mercer and Henry Mancini in 1961. It was sung in the movie Breakfast at Tiffany's by Audrey Hepburn, the movie's star, while the song itself won that year's Academy Award for Best Original Song for Mercer and Mancini. The success of the song was responsible for re-launching Mercer's career as a songwriter.

After receiving a diagnosis of brain cancer Mercer underwent surgery, from which he never fully recovered. He died June 25, 1976, and is buried in Bonaventure Cemetery in Savannah. He lies in a small family plot plot shaded by a large oak tree. Five graves and two small date palms lay inside a low curbstone. One of the graves, a full-length white marble slab, has the inscription of: JOHN HERNDON MERCER (JOHNNY), and his epitaph reads: AND THE ANGELS SING
