Why is Slipknot Not releasing an album till 2008?

Is there a deeper reason, or do they jsut want to relax, and concentrate somehwhere else, like Corey's doing Stone Sour.

    Things with slipknot in reality are shaky. I mean. 9 guys.. clashing personalities. they gotta have that time off or all hell will break loose.. in a bad way. They're all doing their own thing, taking a break, and writing for the next album at the moment.

    i heard it was of their other stuff going on and they just recently got back into the studio.
