Amelia Mary Earhart (July 24, 1897 – missing as of July 2, 1937) was a noted American aviator who disappeared over the central Pacific Ocean during a circumnavigational flight attempt in 1937. She was an influential early female pilot and the first woman to receive the Distinguished Flying Cross.
Fred Noonan was Earhart's only crew member for the second flight Her last voice transmission received on Howland indicated Earhart and Noonan were flying along a line of position (157 - 337 degrees, presumably through Howland Island). The official search efforts lasted about two weeks but Earhart, Noonan and the Electra 10E were never found.

Amelia Earhart's longtime navigator, Fred Noonan, crashed with her. The two of them left Lae, New Guinea and headed for Howland Island. A $4,000,000 investigation never located her remains.

No. I think she was in a single seat plane. She vanished in the Pacific I think.
