Announcements in stores....?

Those damn announcements while you're doing your shopping. Is there a special course people go on? It must be very difficult speaking in that irritating way, with a sing song voice and a peg on your nose. -er- Thank you.

Update:

The thought just occurred to me...why should we be bothered with their petty managerial problems? Why not give staff pagers, so when they want individuals the whole store doesn't have to know.

give a person a microphone and they're all singers

but i do hate those ones with a kind of ding dong bell sound at the beginning of the announcement that makes you jump out of your skin

It is very annoying to have these deafening announcements suddenly start just when you have got a call from work and you are in the supermarket trying to get the shopping done on the quiet!! They will get me sacked yet!!

I hate those announcements, and not only are they annoyingly happy, but they are also impossible to understand and unbearably loud. They always manage to start the announcement just as I pass below a speaker too.

Not so much the stores, but as for railway stations: 'De 12333.35 to Luncdoaij ish noh cat platform fiure'.

I have never yet understood a single announcement............

I know! I mean, they're often just a blur, with a loud, "THANK YOU" at the end, like they were drunk or something. Yet someone out there understands what the heck they're saying.

I agree. Asda are the worst (loudest) in my experience.
