Why did yahoo answers?

It is a violation of the stated Community Guidelines, quoted here:

"NO CHATTING OR PERSONAL COMMUNICATIONS: You may meet friends or other interesting people on Yahoo! Answers with whom you'd like to engage in personal correspondence. If so, please use the chat option on your profile page, rather than use Yahoo! Answers itself. Questions that are chatty, or attempts to engage others in personal communications, will be removed. Some examples of questions that do not comply with the Yahoo! Answers Community Guidelines are below. These are just a few examples, and we reserve the right to change, remove, or add to the list at any time, without notice:

How are you? / Anyone want to chat? / What's your name? / How old are you? / Do you like my avatar? / What time is it? / Who here likes steak? / How many points do you have? / Who likes Britney Spears? "

Sorry, those are the rules your friend agreed to go by.

Usually the main reason someone question is removed is because someone reported the question to Yahoo. If it is done often, someone just keeps reporting this person. I have had it happen to me several times by someone who was angry at me for giving their question a bad rating.

I don't think Yahoo is checking out all the reports that are submitted because it would take so much personal to do it. When a question is reported more than once, it is just removed.

I'm not sure except they may consider that "chatting". I asked before what was your nickname when you were a child and they removed that one for "chatting". Today I asked "Why would you ask a question and then not pick a best answer. You get 3 pts for picking a best answer." , and it got removed!!!! I don't know why! If someone doesn't like you they can report you just to be mean I guess. I don't understand the reasoning on Yahoo's rules.

No idea but I am doing a degree in Theology, Religious Studies and Sociology and they';ve removed 3 questions I've asked about Muslims, Christians and social deviance (all completely unrelated questions).

I sent them an email questioning why and they said that asking questions about religions was insulting and offensive.....so why the hell do they have a religions section??!

I think they just pick and choose what ones they want to remove without any particular reasons.

It's really aggravating!

cause Yahoo answers are a bunch of idiots. They don't read the questions. They just auto delete the answers they get reported. Or if they happen to find someone that is a conservative leaning questioner.. they will auto delete all his/her questions.

They are all from CA so they are Liberal Nazi's Don't let it get to you.. you have to feel sorry for these poor fools.

A lot of people report this same kind of thing; I had it happen one to me. Probably a mistake. Try asking it again; it worked for me.
