Roofing costs?

How much does roofing cost?

Update:

The roof is approx. 720 sq. ft and it is a new addition so there is no layers to take off. Just regular asphalt shingles, nothing fancy.

Depends on what type of roof. How many layers your pulling off. if any plywood needs replaced. Don't forget hauling everything to the dump.

Each company charges differently. You have to get quotes from many of them to find the better deal. Also ask about their insurance and licensing. Be sure that they use quality materials.

If you live in a area that gets snow and ice, make sure that you ask for ice guard to be installed as well. Ask what type of shingle that they use. Is it a 25 or 30 year shingle. The prices will vary due to roof pitch adn wether or not new wood is needed as well as how many square the roof is.

It depends on the size of the roof and the material you use to roof. If it is a typical home with asphalt shingles then the avg cost is $10,000..if slate or metal is used then the cost is raised...substantially!

    Several good answers already.

As a veteran customer of roof repairs -- and finally total replacement -- I can only add:

    1) do your homework. what you don't know WILL hurt you.

    2) talk to lots of suppliers. they give free information when they smell a sale. this way you will accumulate knowledge as you go and be more competent and confident in your succeeding interviews.

    3) DEFINITELY get customer references from the short list of suppliers you finally narrow (three?). Keep in mind the suppliers will give you names of "friendlies" so when you interview them you have to ask good questions. example: "I'm sure supplier X was good, but was there anything you wish they had done better?" "In retrospect, is there another supplier you think might have done a better job?" "Who?"

    4) Check the work every step of the way. Nobody cares about your roof as much as you do and, even as a lay person, you can spot some shoddy work.

i think of a metallic roof could be superb whilst it rains, the sound on it could be so dazzling, even though it could make your place stay warmer because of the fact of it reflecting the suns rays. I parent between $4,500 to $6,000. purely detect a solid stable business enterprise, and verify with the BBB to work out in the event that they are ordinary and stable.
