Are steroids the reason the bears are so dominant? Look at their size?

I would say no, today's football guys are getting larger and larger. Their job is to be in shape and play. Football is not like baseball where you play every day or about every other day like basketball. That means that they have 6 days out of the week where their sole purpose is to be in the best shape possible to play on Sundays. They don't have jobs where they are tied up for eight hours a day meaning that they have lots of required and free time to go to the gym and train. They have the best personal trainers, physical trainers, workout programs and plans for getting, bigger, faster stronger. I would say that steroids could possible aid in becoming better but you do need good execution, good tackling, and the corners are like blankets. With the NFL's current steroid testing policy I would be highly skeptical of believing that the whole team is where it is because of steroids. I think the bears have great execution, they swarm to ball, and they call great blitzing packages to confuse the pass block and get to the QB.

The Bears have a tenacious D with DT's who clog up the middle allowing the LB's and SS to roam the middle of the field making plays. Football is not just about the biggest guys clobbering the smaller ones, as so many are willing to believe.

The main reason steriods are used in sports is recovery, not necessarily muscle mass since that would inhibit mobility. Look at pro bodybuilders...do you think those guys have any kind of lateral movement when they can't put down their arms? Not to be naive and say there are no steriods in football, because it's obvious there are users, but not a much as baseball where pitchers (again for recovery purposes) are the biggest abusers since muscles won't help you hit a curve ball. Plus the ball is juiced anyway...

Yea, what the guy above me said.

What a dumb question; there is so much testing for steroids and illegal drugs that anyone with any brains is going to know that they can be tested at any time, so they are not going to use unless they are a complete moron.

Nutrition and advances in training methods is what is making the players on ALL teams, from high school through college and the pros, so much larger than even 10 years ago.

yes, because obviously the bears are the only team with really big players. no of course not. they get lucky occasionally and control the clock on offense, and have spent a ton of money on building a top defense
