Account Manager or Telemarketer? Is this a good career move?

It's not really a telemarketer since you're not making cold calls to prospective customers. The job is customer service and sales combined. When it's time for renewal you'll be trying to "sell" the service for another year. This job doesn't seem to be in line with your degree, but talking with clients and using your persuasive skills would certainly give you experience for an advertising related job in the future. Take the job, but keep looking for another one that's more career related.

You could go for a more honest form of work and just become a hooker. At least hookers provide a service people WANT.

Of course you went into advertising, so you aren't too far from prostitution anyway.

And no, I'm not being sexist. I'd say the exact same thing to a male telemarketer. It's a far less honorable profession than just spreading your legs and letting your john do what he pleases.

Sounds like telemarketing to me. If you are interested in sales, all of the money making jobs are in outside sales.

I think it is telemarketing, or else why 3 hours a day on phone, you have your ba....this is not in your best interest in my opinion...go for better..good luck.

Is this what you have that degree for? Is advertising what you really think is going to fullfill your life goals. We sure could use more doctors and nurses, firemen and police officers. How about one of those? Help or hinder? I don't see a clear path from here.

accounts manager is the best as now a days u have great demand for this job in this commercial world.
