there are 2 different ways to do it, 1 is to simply stop using it completely, and the other is to contact the e-mail deliverer and ask them to delete the account

Write in to the service provider to remove the account for you.
I believe they are most willing to do that for you. It is waste of space when someone owned an account, but never use it.
