Subwoofer problem?
My subwoofer for my entertainment center is making noise without a signal (sounds like morse code tapping ...I know it's not...it's just what it sounds like) Is it damge that can be repaired or should I get a new subwoofer? It's a 10inch JBL
Yes the cables are diconnected. The subwoofer is just plugged in to an outlet. Where would you go about finding a professional to help?

When you say it is making noise without a signal do you mean you have it disconnected from the source? If so then my guess is something is wrong with the amplifier in your subwoofer. I'd have it looked at by a professional before deciding to dump it, especially because it is a JBL.

There could be something wrong with it but something to try, The amp could be picking up noises from something in your home. The same as a lot of amps can pick up radio frequencies from CB radios and etc. RF signals can cause something like that. Also if it is powered by a 110v outlet, try moving it into another room where there is a receptacle on a different circuit. There could be something causing a power surge or or something of that nature.
