Currently having some bad leg pain.?

This has two parts: Part one- About two days ago I somehow managed to hurt my knee (all I did was stand up. I've had problems with this knee before, but not recently). When I go up and down stairs or bend or unbend it, it causes a great deal of pain and it seems to pop.

Part two- this morning if got up and both of my calf muscles spasmed. They refuse to loosen, it hurts very much to walk or stand at all. I've had leg cramps in my previous 3 pregnancies but none like this. I am currently 30 weeks pregnant. I do have a doctors appointment tomorrow. I'm just wondering if any one has any ideas on how to get my calves to loosen up (I've tried streching and walking it off) please let me know. Also I was wondering if anyone might know whether the knee and the leg cramps might be related or just horrible timing? lol Any help is much appriciated!

Your body produces a hormone.. I belive it's called relaxen, or relaxin.. when you are pregnant, so your bones can move and adjust for your growing belly, sometimes this will cause you to have pain in joints, like your knees, hips (I had VERY bad pain in my hips during my last two pregnancies, so bad, i could barely walk, or roll over in bed at night) and even fingers. This could be the cause for your knee hurting, as for your leg muscles, with all the added weight and pressure on the muscles in your legs, they sometimes spasm and you will have very painful charly horses (sp?) I had them also, but not as painful as what you are describing I don't think.. I hope this helps you some.. good luck,

I'm so sorry to hear that.I would just say wait until you see your doc.But PLEASE PLEASE make sure your watching your leg.I had a blood clot with this pregnancy and it wasn't fun.I noticed my whole leg really really cold and then I went to look at it and it was swollen and purple in color.I've been on blood thinners. It all came about because I hit my thigh on our bed post in the middle of the night getting out of bed.I got a really big bruise and I guess that's what it was from. But please keep an eye on it and if something like that starts happening go to the ER right away.....
