Yahoo Answers is shutting down on May 4th, 2021 (Eastern Time) and beginning April 20th, 2021 (Eastern Time) the Yahoo Answers website will be in read-only mode. There will be no changes to other Yahoo properties or services, or your Yahoo account. You can find more information about the Yahoo Answers shutdown and how to download your data on this help page.

Would it be interesting to know who reported you or gave a thumbs down?

Update:

It might limit the excessive use . The ones who are childish and do it just to be jerks would be exposed.

Yes I think so. I wish we could make a list and separate the ups from downs, keep track of them, and create a closer knit community here on Q&A. This could open up several forums where people could discuss intelligently instead of in an arguementative fasion. Open up chat rooms with a monitor that could keep the conversation engaging without insult to others beliefs.

    I am all for it!!!

Source(s): As for reporting...Yahoo needs to get a grip because it is fraudulent much of the time. Though I understand it has it's positives also . This is no place for name calling and insults. This is an opportunity to find common ground and make America stronger. United We Stand and some are to lazy and just sit.

I used to think so but not so much anymore.

Some people reports or gives you thums down just for hell of it. No reason whatsoever. Maybe they are desperate to collect more points in an easy way. (Do we get points for giving someone thumbs down?) I don't know. Anyhow you can't be wasting precious time and energy for those people. I'd say if someone didn't email you or leave a comment to let you know why your question/answer was so sucky or offensive, don't worry about it. You don't want to deal with those people who has no guts to face it. Have fun! :)

Interesting - maybe interesting to watch (like the old Jerry Springer show) until people got tired of being threatened, stalked, bullied, and victimized by the people they gave reports or thumbs down to, and then stopped participating altogether.

You seem to be taking the forums too seriously.

    Loosen up.

A forum is a place where people exchange opinions, and that's all it is. It's not the United Nations.

It stands to reason that most people have opposite points of view (especially in the politics forums). But it's that very fact what makes the forums entertaining. Let's face it, if everybody had the same point of view, it would be pretty boring.

I think it would be nice if a non-Yahoo entity ran these through computers to look for trends! I am certain that there are paid activists-especially from the Pro-illegal Invasion and Loony Left, that are using their influence in detrimental ways for the US society.

    And they should be known!

That would make people on here accountable, that is not in the best interest of the whole. See the communistic view of yahoo.

No....I really don't care. I just wish people would be more mature about giving a thumbs down just because someone disagrees with them. And I really hate it when they revert to calling names. That is so juvenile.

Its annonymous for a reason. If people knew who reported them they'd be continually harassing them and it would defeat the whole purpose of this forum.
