What is this infection?

I have never heard of it, but I know several people who are getting this. (who I am steering clear of) The symptoms are pounding headaches, burning eyeballs/swollen eyes and aching hips. Weirdest symptoms!!! Have you any ideas or know what this is?

Update:

NO hang over causes aching hips - it has nothing to do with walking a million miles to hit several bars or drunken sex... It seriously sounds like some kind of meningitis to me!!

    I agree with it sounding like a hangover.....but the generalized nature of the symptoms make it pretty certain to be a virus if it is indeed an infection of anykind. Most virii are self limiting, and if one is supportive of one's body during the infection, by drinking alot of fluids and getting adequate rest, it should pass.
