If they actually take you groceries to your car and they put them in...they are respectfull and polite...then it would be a great thing to tip them. I live on an Army Base, and most of the kids that work as baggers, they're only income is the tips that they make...So I always make sure to tip them well. It also says a lot of your character if you don't tip...so you might want to think about that and re-evaluate your life...Not YOU personally...but in general an person that doesn't tip.

30 years ago when I worked as a bagger it was much more common to help people out with their groceries and I would make a dollar or two most days (making $1.85 an hour $2 a day wasn't too bad).

While there are places where tipping baggers is routine, in most places this is not a custom. Unlike waiters, baggers earn at least the full minimum wage, and at many places they earn union scale--so tips aren't essential to their income.

Yes, if they take the groceries to your car. But if they just do the bagging and you take the groceries to your car i wouldn't tip.

No. Those crabby kids have a job to do. Isn't it enough that they make minimum wage?
Tipping has gotten out of hand and we need to rebel against it. No more 15% tips when the service is crap.
STAND UP TAKE NOTE..

I don't think its expected, but people do - and the (usually) kids who do that job do appreciate it.
Grocery stores generally have a policy that their employees do what it takes to assist the customers. Customers who obviously need some help getting the carriages to their car are on the rarer side.

You can, but where I work (grocery store) courtesy clerks are not allowed to take tips. Its nice to offer something though.

they get paid regular wages where as waitresses dont so they depend on the tips so i say no, thats what they are already being paid to do
