What are some basic strategies to solve a rubik's cube?

The website that I looked at does not make any sense.

    pull all the stickers off and place them wher you want them..lol i cant stop laughing

    The best way to solve the cube is to get each side all the same color.

    do all the corners first LAY DOWN THE FOUNDATIONS then the middle parts are easy
