Is Registry Patrol a good product?

I was going download the free sample to do a deep scan to get rid of junk but I don't want it if it puts MORE junk on my computer!

The Registry on your computer controls everything thecomputer does, keeps track of default settings on things etc. The people who entice you with these Registry cleaner programs, claim that over time your Registry strays farther and farther from the default(proper) settings, allowing viruses & spyware etc. to invade yout PC, causing crashes. In my view, all you need is a good anti virus program, a good spyware program, use them regularly to keep your PC free from all that stuff. People get messing around with their settings, and the first thing you know, nothing works right. Use your security system, and leave your settings alone. Besides you can restore all the settings on the registry using " Syetem Restore", which will reset your settings to a time before they got shifted.

To access " System Restore", go to your start menu, go to "Help & Support", look for System restore. When that comes up, pick a date that's available to set a restore date, click on it and follow the prompts to restore the computer to all the right default settings before it got messed up. You will need to restart your computer for this to take affect. That, I hope will get it back to a healthier state.

Source(s): I've used this to restore settings, without losing any data, and make sure no programs are running while doing system restore.
