Do u thk the government would work better if people understood it...?

History in High School doesn't come close to the education needed to understand limitations of powers nor checks and balances so shouldn't the government have a T.V. station that explains its system.

High school only has time to give you a few tools to try and understand how the government works. If you really want to know you need to read, unbiased, if possible, articles & books that give you more insight into how the government really works.

There is no way that the government is going to have a TV station that explains it's self to us. They don't want us to know what they are doing & as for checks & balances, where the heck are they? If we had them we wouldn't be at war in Iraq!

yes better education in geography, history, and government would significantly improve our government over time. Right now, politicians talk simply and stupidly because people dont understand the issues very well and vote based on rhetoric rather than rationale. A President or congressman could easily lie to prove a point and get away with it because a majority of Americans slept through history class then or dont do their homework now (by reading the newspaper daily and getting all opinions). Once our politicians know they have to deal with educated voters, they will have to work harder and legally to prove themselves to be worthy.

The less informed the electorate is on the goverment the more curroption that tends to occur. America is a free country, therfore you have the right to be bookworn, or the right to be not care civic events ocurring with the goverment. People understood the goverment they be more turned off by it since the founding fathers made the system where radical legislation, and rules will be blocked by check and balances.

government will not tell u everything cuz it is built up on lies and they dont care what the people think they have more power than the people they only say that they don't they do a lot of things that people dont agree with

thats why ANARCHY is the solution!

i refuse to be a brainwashed member of this hypocritical system!!!

US Government is a required class in most high schools. The reason government doesn't "work better" is because there are no built in incentives to do so. Most elected officials would rather be re-elected than to do what is right.

They don't want us to understand what they are doing. We kick up a big enough fuss, about the injustice we see, as it is..if we knew more.. can you imagine?

They definitely want to keep us their little mushrooms...ya know "keep us in the dark and feed us s"....well you know how it goes.
