Tweaking means making small changes (not just in software but in anything)

Microsoft products were not ever intended to connect on networks.

So, the arbitrary mtu or maximum transmit unit, is set totally wrong for high speed internet connection.

So, it must be 'tweaked' and you would use 'tweakui' program, from Microsoft web site, or in a google search, to allow you to access that software control.

I love the multi-tasking operating systems, over 400 of which are FREE to DownLoad. They actually come well tweaked, already.

I do know that in the PCGaming shoot-out, the benchtest results were that the well tweaked XP system was upto 50 times SLOWER than the "out of the box, didn't know what we were doing, in Linux, so we just stuck it in there!" Red Hat GNU/Linux.

Imagine a properly installed GNU/Linux, such as http://pclinuxos.com/ that is FREE!

Tweaking refers to fine-tuning or adjusting a complex system, usually an electronic device. Tweaks are any small modifications intended to improve a system. Tweaking can also refer to modifying someone's social behavior.

In electronics, it is a synonym for "trimming." Analog circuit boards often have small potentiometers or other components on them that are used to calibrate or adjust the board as a service procedure: the small insulated screwdriver used to turn them is often called a "tweaker."
