I am white to the point of being transparent and my girlfriend is black (1/2 Haitian, 1/2 African).

We are very much in love, and apart from the occasional stare we get by certain people, we don't feel the color difference at all. People tend to focus on the fact that she is ferociously good looking and I'm rather ordinary-looking before getting into the color thing, so I get more jealous stares than racist ones.

Anyway, it's not a problem for us. And you love someone, it should not be.

Why does someone have to be racist or come from a racist family to ask this type of question? She's a young girl that has never dated someone of darker color and she's not sure what to do.

I was once attracted to an older woman, I asked friends if they thought it was cool before I went out with her. Didn't make me anti-older people. I once asked a buddy about dating a woman with kids, didn't make me anti-children.

There's nothing wrong with you going out with a guy of different skin tone. And don't let idiots play games with you by telling you that you or your family is racist because you asked.

You must have one of those parents who are races. Yes it's ok to love a man with a different color skin, no matter what.
