Please Help! Serious suggestions for lower back pain?

I have a doctors appt schedule but can't get in until Thursday afternoon and I was hoping someone could offer me some pointers. I've been having lower back pain since Friday, it's a dull pain but is making it very hard for me to lift my youngest daughter (I've ceased lifting her unless totally necessary i.e. getting in and out of the car and her crib), it is also very hard to get in and out of a chair or the couch as well as if I sit down on the floor.

Friday the pain was the worst with the pain shooting into my leg. I've been taking advil and aleve but neither seem to really get rid of the pain. I'm sleeping with a pillow between my legs which makes sleep a little better but I'm still in pain. Any help would be greatly appreciated, but serious answers only please!

Thanks in advance for any help :0)

You've described a psyatic nerve problem.

Heating pads and hot baths, until you can talk to your doctor about alternatives for, perhaps, non-surgical spinal decompression therapy.... which is an amazing advancement, btw.

    Hope this helps!

Sounds to me like you threw out your back i have the same problems happens to me about 3 times a year try sleeping on the floor with only 1 blanket under you and 1 pillow so that your almost flat i know it sounds weird but it will help also take moltrin instead of advil and aleve put cold packs on the day time and hot backs at night if you have a heating pad it works wonders to sooth the pain also try bio freeze or bengay both seem to do the trick with the leg pain if you just rub it into the muscle streching is also good if you can move around that much stand up straight and then crotch down and hold the position for about 30 seconds if you can good luck hope you feel better soon

Are trying alternating ice with warmness... Ice for 20 minutes, warmth for 20, chill out for 20. If one or the other irritates your again, then simply do the one that's relaxed for you. Also, if it's nerve sort ache, are trying lying flat on the floor, legs stretched out. Bring one leg up to your chest, pull it in along with your hands unless you believe a mild pulling sensation to the again of your thigh... Pull your leg into your chest until the pulling sensation is solely to the factor of uncomfortable. Maintain for a slow count of 10. Repeat with opposite leg. Do as a minimum 5 with each and every aspect, extra if that you could tolerate it. Cat stretches might also have the funds for you some comfort. I might endorse you to preclude taking any medicines, OTC or otherwise, as a minimum 24 hours prior to your appointment. You want to head in uncomfortable in order that your medical professional has a better threat of finding the offender.

I have found that heat or sometimes ice helps with the pain. Try using therma care heat wrap or something to that effect. I have a pain that shoots down my leg also and have been diagnosed with a herniated disk. Definatly see your doctor, or go to urgent care if you can no longer manage the pain.
