For the "Old folks" here: how many times do you say?

I say it now and I'm 29. When I was a kid we didn't have I-pods and when I was a kid we would play outside all day until the street lights came on.

I try not to say it too much, but catch myself doing it once in a while.

I remember my father using that phrase often. We would then tease him by saying,"When I was a kid, I had to walk 5 miles to school in knee deep snow, uphill both ways."

Sometimes it just slips out though, because in my lifetime so many things have changed, some for the worse.

I am often around people who are just 10 years younger than me and I am shocked at how different our lives are! I say it all the time, especially about what they do with thier time. No one plays make believe, or reads a book or rides thier bike just for fun. So sad. I blame the interenet. Wait, where am I?

All the time. I'm 44 and my kids wonder how I lived without remote contols, video games, computers and cell phones.

I tell them there used to be a thing called going outside to play.

I went back to school, so I'm about 12 years older than my classmates. So I say, "when I was your age" a lot when discussing how students act these days. Of course things were better when I was their age!

I say that now and I'm 22.

Example: When I was a kid they had tan colored M & M's.

I'm 28 and I say that every now and then when appropriate. Nothing wrong with it.
