Well some people or idiots and need attention, and they don't know how to get it if it wasn't for lieing. But just don't worry and just agree with them and tell them a lie too. But most people especially guys will lie to impress someone or a group of people so they can have attention.

The first thing about being online is not to let anyone upset u or believe half of what their saying.This sounds like a kid and he is stupid and immature. So just laugh at it and forget it...

Not sure why someone would lie. My guess would be they arent happy with themselves and so they have to make up lies.

yes, they probably think that they could get away with it, I would report it if it happens again to you, you don't deserve that done to you, and I would make your email unavailable to others.
