What is Limewire? What does it do?

Hi, Limewire is a P2P package that is free to download and use.

P2P means, that unlike napster and iTunes your not downloading from a central database but, from other limewire users that have the file you want on thier machines.

Now there are a few downsides to this.

1, You cannot always garantee the file your downloading is the actual file you want. This is because you can change file names etc.

2, You cannot garantee that the file is not corrupted in anyway. Many bad people have viruses on these file such as key press analysers that can track you personal information etc.

3, It's illegal to share music, images and movie files on this software type as it infringes on copyright protection. So if your gonna use it beaware that big brother can and will inflict severe penalties on you. As was recently done in the U.S.

Your best bet is to download software from either napster or iTunes because you know what your getting and you get it at a decent rate (I won't go into download speeds on P2P it's too technical for here). You can be nearly 100% sure its bug and virus free. And most important it's legal.

u have to download songs from the net n then open the folder which has the song n drag it into itues library

"what is limewire?" ---Limewire is this thing you can install (www.limewire.com) that makes you able to download any song or movie/video that you want. you just write the thing you want in the space and click search and then you click on one of them and press down load.

"what does it do?" ---it doesnt do anything. it just downloads songs and movies.

---once you have downloaded some songs, you can drag them straight into a file, or you itunes library. once they are in itunes you can put them in your ipod, and then you have officially stolen music.

Also, make sure you have a good antivirus thing because or else if you're not careful you could get a virus on your computer. hope all this could help :)

Limewire is where people get their music for free instead of paying for it. It's illegal but people still do it. Yes itc ould be used with Itunes and yur Ipod or any other mp3 player. U could even download movies on there. Hope I could help:)

Its a file sharing program. It is currently considered illigal, beacuse you could sync it with iTunes and put on you Ipod. That would slow Apple's sales down. My friend tryed to use it once, it didnt even work. I wouldnt reccomend it. Stick with the 99c. If anyone catches limewire, it would cause a problem.(Most Likley)

It's a software downloading program that can be used for music, video, even documents but rarely. Most music you download there can be used on your ipod, in itunes, and so forth. Just be careful, there are viruses out there. Also, it's pretty much illegal.

Limewire is a peer to peer downloading program. It lacks a central server, so the RIAA can't get it shut down. It should download iTunes, but I don't know, I don't do i.

lime wire is a digital file sharing network. this program takes your files that are saved on lime wire and shares them with everyone else. this software is legal, unless your downloading music, or any thing else with a copy right. (thats what most people do). then if your cought, you will be fined. using limewire to download free things if fine, but dont down load anything that you would usually have to buy.
