The web has changed how we as humans conduct our everyday lives. It has made information easy to find and in some aspects made us lazier. BUT...it has opened so many more doors to a new type of learning and communication, that once we as a society can grasp it's power and are not afraid of what the 'web' can offer, we will take our knowledge as a whole to the next level. I don't know how much kids in school use the internet now, but they should use it more and more. Of course you need barriers (software to filter out adult info, etc) and to teach kids safety on the net, but in the long run, they will get more out of it than if we hold them back.
Also, quit with constant apptitude tests for kids. All they do is train to take apptitude tests. Ughh..
Sorry, I'll quit preaching now!
(hops off the soapbox!)

The web has given the young ones the opportunity to become lazy and not have to do their own homework, not have to socialize (because hey,Myspace is a way of "socializing",right?) and even tools so they can sit around all-day and "work from home" once they graduate high school.
It has also brought pedophiles easy access to this generation. 'Cause hey,30 year old Bob on Myspace looks friendly and requested me as a friend-let's add him!

Seems most are either too damn lazy to look for themselves, or they just don't think for themselves.
