TAX question?
Last year my husband worked for a guy who owns his own business. This guy paid him all year with cash. We are trying to file our taxes on line with turbo tax. What kind of form does he need to fill out. Is this like he owns his own business or is it like he is self employed??

If he was paid cash..there is NO paper trail. I assume he didn't pay taxes on that money...SO..if you claim it, you will have to pay all of the taxes on it.
Did he recieve a 1099 from the employer? If not, I say DO NOT file his income at all.
It would not be worth the money or the trouble.

If you husband was paid in cash, did he pay any taxes from that? And did his employer pay his portion on your husband? If he doesn't have a business, you don't file it that way. And the self employed have different rules I am not wholly familiar with.
Make it easy on yourselves. If all transactions were in cash, don't file.

owns his own business, self-employed... two words for the same thing.
He puts his income on a Schedule C, also any expenses he has.
