Question about the twins paradox in relativity?
OK, I get time dilation, if I travel away from earth at relativistic speeds then when I return I will have experienced less time than my twin on Earth who has grown old and died. So my question is, If I observe that the universe is 14 Billion years old, how much time has passed for the first photons in the big bang? How old would those photons think they were in Earth years if they were capable of thinking about it?
This question is not about the possible cognitive process of photons, but a specific question regarding how much time would have elapsed for the first photons from the big bang that are presumably travelling at the speed of light. taking time dilation into consideration

As I understand it (and those 4 words are very important to what I am about to say), it might go something like this.
As a body a approaches light speed (C) time slows and at the point of C time stops. If that is the case, a photon is light and by definition travels C. So if time stops at C and a photon is traveling C there would be zero time lapse for it since the Big-Bang.
Does that make sense?
Probably not, but I am not one of those scientists with 50 assorted capital letters after my name and a fragile reputation to protect. I'm just a guy who thinks that science is cool and likes to discuss various concepts.
It's been fun, a bit confusing, but fun. Have a great day.

The Physics is first of all Vacuum.
Vacuum is :T=0K.
Once upon a time, 20 billions of years ago, all matter
(all elementary particles and all quarks and
their girlfriends- antiparticles and antiquarks,
all kinds of waves: electromagnetic, gravitational,
muons… gluons field ….. etc.) – was assembled in a “single point”.
It is interesting to think about what had surrounded the “single point”.
The answer is :
EMPTINESS- NOTHING….!!!
Ok!
But why does everyone speak about EMPTINESS- NOTHING in
common phrases rather than in specific, concrete terms?
I wonder why nobody has written down this EMPTINESS- NOTHING in
the form of a physical formula ? You see, every schoolboy knows that
is possible to express the EMPTINESS- NOTHING condition
by the formula T=0K.
* * *
Once there was a “Big Bang”.
But in what space had the Big Bang taken place
and in what space was the matter of the Big Bang distributed?
Not in T=0K?
It is clear, that there is only EMPTINESS, NOTHING, in T=0K.
Now consider that the Universe, as an absolute frame of reference is
in a condition of T = 2,7K (rests relic radiation of the Big Bang ).
But, the relic radiation is extended and in the future will change and decrease.
What temperature can this radiation reach?
Not T=0K?
Hence, if we go into the past or into the present or into the future,
we can not escape from EMPTINESS- NOTHING T=0K.
Therefore it is necessary to begin to think from T=0K.

“Twin paradox” and “ twins brothers”.
Einstein's Special Relativity Theory / Twin paradox
(time travel ) does not have any relation to a astronaut.
Special Relativity Theory only examines the behaviour
of a quantum of light / electron.
Twin Paradox (time travel ) has relation only to
a light quantum / electron.
SRT/ Twin Paradox has grown from Maxwell's theory.
And only an electron/ quantum of light is a main
and single hero in the Maxwell's theory and SRT.

Because nothing material can be accelerated to the speed of light, and because anything that thinks need to be able to perceive, remember and process information, nothing that travels at the speed of light could think, since the process of perception would be impossible. So, it is a question with no basis in reality and therefore cannot possibly be answered. Also, re antimatter question - try again, people are coming online and off all the time!

Time does not pass for photons. That is the trick to understanding your question.
And as for the guy who doesn't believe in the twin paradox or time dilation, he is 60 years behind the times. Time dilation has been proved experimentally with particle accelerators.

"...a photon that emerged from the Big Bang is the same age today as it was then. There is no passage of time at light speed."

First of all I dont believe in the twins paradox. I believe time is constant, only how we measure it changes. If you go up in space and travel for three days out and three days back, you have been gone six days, earth and people have aged six days, not eight. or whatever ! If we were to make it to light and converted to light we would be light, moving so fast that time would not slow down, but we could get a lot more done in a very short amount of time because we are moving so fast.

First of all, there was no Big Bang.
Second of all, I hope you get better answers than I did for my anti-matter question. (I got zero.)
