    My best stock trading book is "Come into my trading room", by Dr. Alexander Elder. Great book to learn everything technical and personal about trading and being successful.

    This book was recommended by a great course I took on stock and options online investing. This came with a book and would be my second favorite book: http://emiprotege.tradedog.hop.clickbank.../

    The book is careful not to simplify stock trading or minimize the risks involved in online trading. There are big potential benefits for who can master his technique and emotions. A key thing I learned was a system to keep track of my trades - loosing and winning - to learn about my mistakes and improve.

    My favorite investment book is "The Little Book That Beats the Market" - it is a fun short read that will teach you the fundamentals of value investing.

    Here is a portfolio of stocks that meet this book's criteria:

    I think the best website for learning about the stock market is http://www.top10traders.com/ - this is a free site that lets you create a portfolio of stocks with $100,000 in "play" money. Each day the site ranks the best performing portfolios, so you can see how your picks perform compared to other investors. You can read posts on investing from the best traders, as well as share your own investing ideas. There is a charting feature, so you can see how your portfolio performs compared to the S&P 500. Also, you can create your own "group" so that you can see how you are doing compared to your friends.

    Here are this month's best traders:

    Hope this helps.

    => The future for investors, Jeremy Siegel:

    Gives you good insight in what investing is all about, and explains the difference between good companies and good investments very well

    => Unconventional success, Davis Swensen:

    Good book for learning about asset classes and the importance of proper diversification

    The next two are very very interesting to read and put your feet back on the ground.

    => The (mis)behavior of markets, Benoit Mandelbrot

    This book argues that modern portfolio theory is based on flawed assumptions.

    => Fooled by Randomness, Nassim Nicholas Taleb,

    Argues that chance plays a much bigger role in the markets than (successful) investors are willing to admit.

    I guess if you would read these 4 books, you will be more realistic and cautious about investing, with a higher chance of long term success.
